My background

My work as a painter is intimately linked to the energy work done on myself in my personal development.

In fact, I went back to painting (which I cherrished since my childhood), only when I got initiated to Reiki Healing. This period also coincided with my coming back to France, after a long 17 year stay in Japan and it allowed me to retrieve my long restrained and inhibited spontaneity...that came as fireworks!

In Japan, painting was no longer at the heart of my interests when I lived in Kyoto, surrounded by so many marvelous assets of heritage, I chose to learn the techniques of wood carving and modeling as well as mother-of-pearl coatings with two masters:

*From 1996 to 2003, Kagita Gei'un teaches me the art of acrving Noh theater masks, made out of hinoki wood blocks and mother-of-pearl powder coatings, that which gives them their porcelain complexion.

*Between 2003 and 2006, in Kyoto, Men'ya Shôho teaches me the modeling of Gosho style dolls and Ichimatsu style articulated dolls.

Wood carving, molding, paper mache technique, powder coated with mother of pearl, up to the sewing of miniature kimonos to dress them!

As for painting, I did not feel the need to learn from someone cause I knew i knew what painting was about.

I feel I have stretched mysel to such an extent, from very formated traditional art form to totally free colorful self expresion!

The desire to create beauty is what pushes me from the inside to take the tubes out from the closet onto my living room table ! Then my whole living room becomes a sanctuary, a place to listen inside, to behold, welcome and let be.
The less I intervene, the more the creation feels strong and charged with energy, the more it speaks directly to the heart.
I hope my creations will touch you ...
